			Gateway Systems (India) Ltd.

Founded in 1991 as a LAN, WAN & wireless systems integrator, Gateway Systems is the first Broadband Wireless Internet Access provider in India. Gateway's mission is to deliver high quality Internet services to organizations that require 24/7 connectivity.

Gateway provisions "last mile access" over broadband wireless networks, with high reliability, quick deployment and bandwidth augmentation on demand.

Brief History of Gateway Systems
Since its inception, Gateway moved rapidly to establish itself as the preferred enterprise network integrator in India, and in 1993 installed the first campus wide fiber network in Pune. Gateway entered the wireless business in 1995, recognizing the huge potential of this technology in India given the state of terrestrial, copper-cable based local loops provisioned by the local phone companies. The first E1 (2 Mbps) link, the first company to cross the "100 links" milestone and the first LMDS (Local Multipoint Distribution System) deployment are major achievements of Gateway.

A cumulative installed base of more than 400 Point-to-Point microwave links across India reflects Gateway's credentials in the wireless business.

April 2000 marked an important achievement, not only for Gateway but also in the history of Internet infrastructure in India, as Gateway became the first ISP in India to deliver high quality Internet access over Broadband Wireless Access (BWA) networks.

The access network for the city of Pune, with 3 base stations in July 2000, marked the first installations. 4 base stations in the financial capital of Mumbai followed in September 2000, 1 base station in Bangalore was rolled out in May 2001 and 1 base station in New Delhi was rolled out in Sept. 2001.

Gateway Systems Today
Gateway Systems is now a part of Reliance Communications Ltd and is focused on providing highly reliable "last mile" connectivity over wireless for Internet. Its is a huge success story in the Indian Internet service provisioning business - with a large number of corporate customers today, across industry segments, as diverse as Software/IT, Media/Entertainment, Finance/Banking, Manufacturing, Transportation, Education.
